Bricks and Shadows

The afternoon sun casts dramatic shadows along the downtown skyline.  I particularly like this detail.  This shadow only appears for a few weeks in the winter due to the orientation of the buildings and the low angle of the sun in the sky.

The Snow is Here!

I was scheduled to teach two photo classes today. The college was on the ball and cancelled classes last night, so I turned off the alarm clock.  When I woke this morning, everything was covered with snow. It was still coming down. The flakes were huge. It's expected to keep snowing for a few hours and accumulate to 8 or 9 inches.

This is a snapshot taken with the iPhone.  It looks like we're going to catch up on some of that snow we've been missing.

Ready or Not, Merry Christmas!

The tree is decorated. The shopping is done. This is as close to a Christmas card as I will get this year.
Now, on to the gift wrapping.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

School Play - The Hunchback

Last night I attended my Granddaughter's school play.  It was fun watching a bunch of middle school kids do their version of The Hunchback of Notre-Dame.  For a few more photos, click here.

Police at the Graveyard

This is my grandson hamming it up in front of my neighbor's front yard.  I'm not sure which one enjoys halloween more.

Music at the Farmer's Market

A couple of weeks ago several of us went on a photowalk around the downtown Omaha area.  This young lady was among several musicians playing at the farmer's market.

A few more photos from the day are located here.

Street Repairs at Sunrise

These guys work in the shadow of the downtown buildings. The morning Sun starts to shine between the buildings in the background.
